Leonard is a lay pastor that took over a small church on the Washoe Reservation near Minden, NV. Previously Kenny Franks and Christian Lent led this congregation. He is a half Washoe and half Piute Native American and a very enthusiastic Christian layman. There is a support system for the local leaders of which Stan Summers in Bishop is one of the mentors.
Leonard is married with four kids, the oldest is going to be a senior in High School and is university bound. His wife leads the worship at the small church which is now mobile, as they were meeting at the Reservation community room which is now closed due to roof leaks. They are meeting when and where they can, moving the sound system and such every meeting.
He accepted the Lord around age 20 and believes that this is his calling for now, to continue this small church of 50 or so. He is strongly aware of his abilities and regularly invites others to preach and teach.
He believes that we are one church, serving each other worldwide in prayer and in other ways. He was very interested in getting Bibles and song books, as they have very little. They are considering a trailer to continue their mobile church efforts until they get a regular meeting place. We believe he is completely sincere in his devotion and beliefs. He works for water companies in the area doing repairs and meter installs to provide for his family.
Wings of Faith will now support Leonard in this key position on the Washoe Nation.
Please pray for Leonard as he seeks the Lord in this congregation and beyond!
