We were thrilled to deliver a massive load of food, clothes and other supplies to Yuma, Ariz.
as part of our 2016 Christmas Airlift. There was so much to take that Wings of Faith volunteer pilot Jason Ramirez drove the supplies from our hangar in Corona, Calif. Jason took some photos and wrote this note after the trip:
“I wanted to share a couple pictures with you from the Yuma trip. The load we took on the flatbed truck filled two of the missionaries’ pickup trucks and three pallets were hauled away in Alex Montoya's box truck. They were so blessed to receive the toys from the Christmas Airlift along with the food and clothing. Bud Eaton was very grateful to see boxes of the Gospels of John. One of the missionaries, Mike Clausen, was praying for oatmeal, and we had several huge boxes of oatmeal in the truck.”
The food alone weighed 1.5 tons! Here’s what was delivered:
- 900 lbs. of GCH peanut butter, almonds and trail mix
- 850 lbs. of gleanings soup mix
- 800 lbs. of snack bars, fruit, pretzels and oatmeal
- 90 lbs. of raw cocoa powder
- 40 lbs. of pasta
- 300 one-lb. cans of tomatoes and pasta sauce
- 5 10-lb cans of miscellaneous fruit and beans
- Christmas supplies for the children that Mike, Bud and Alex serve
- 400 copies of the Gospel of John
- 1,000 gospel tracts
- 4 big boxes of Tom's Shoes
- One big box of socks
- 14 bags of used clothing
This delivery to Yuma is earmarked for the needy families living in poverty along the Mexican border. Thank you, Jason, and the rest of the Wings of Faith volunteers and sponsors for dedicating your time and energy to help the least among us, especially at Christmas!
