In Mark 10:13 we see people bringing little children to Jesus so that he would place his hands on them. When the disciples rebuked the people for this, Jesus was indignant and said to them “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Wouldn’t you have liked to have been one of the children that Jesus touched and blessed? Today’s followers of Christ can have the same impact that Jesus had. We can bless children in His name and show them the compassionate nature of God through our actions.
Our desire is to share the Gospel with all who live on remote Native American Reservations by serving them with tangible products as a means to open their hearts to the Word of God. Thankfully, we serve a God of miracles and faithfulness. He has opened the door for missionaries in Indian Country. He has strong, obedient believers within the tribes who are serving their own by proclaiming Christ. And He has given a vision of providing assistance to all of them through the ministry of Wings of Faith.
Our tireless volunteers have already been hard at work in the initial phases of our annual Backpack and School Supply Drive. We have seen first-hand how a back pack filled with school supplies can be a great blessing for children whose families have few resources.
Our goal is to provide these bundles of blessings to about 3,000 kids on the Navajo, Apache, Hopi, and many more Reservations in the Southwestern U.S. We need $20,000 to make this happen, and the great news is that we have already received a $5,000 donation for the fuel costs! The remaining funds will be used for backpacks and supplies to put into them.
