The 6th of January, was a historic day for the Diné people. The first Navajo Nation Presidential Prayer Breakfast was held in Fort Defiance, Arizona. The heart of the Navajo Nation.
There were over three hundred Diné pastors and Christian leaders in attendance. The leaders shared their hope for our people and the hope of Christ.
Our former president shared how God used him to carry our people through a pandemic that has impacted our communities and taken the lives of many of our elders. Our new president shared his hope that God would continue to lead in this new season.
2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us that when His people humble themselves, pray, and seek His face, He will heal their land.
The time came for us to pray for our new leaders. As they knelt for prayer before the people, Exodus 3:5 came to mind; God told Moses to take off his sandals, because he was standing on holy ground. This sacred moment will forever be in my mind. Hope was given to the Diné people that God was healing our land as a result of the humble acknowledgment of Him.
Thank you for your prayers leading up to this day!
